Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) Recycling
Effective September 1, 2018, all loads of Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) as well as multi-family recycling will be charged a tipping fee of $95 per tonne for loads with greater than 50% corrugated cardboard (OCC) and $160 per tonne for loads with less than or equal to 50% OCC. This rate increase is to reflect increased processing costs associated with current recycling market conditions. To set up an account, please contact us.
Clean Cardboard loads will not be charged a tipping fee.
ICI loads of mixed material must be brought to the Abbotsford location and will not be accepted at the Mission drop-off facility. Prior to dropping off mixed recyclable materials, ICI loads must go over the weigh scale and will not be accepted at the residential drop-off.
Materials Not Accepted
Film plastic from retail packaging (shopping bags and overwrap etc.) and glass bottles and jars will not be accepted in mixed material loads, but will be accepted if kept separate.
Film plastic not from retail packaging (zipper-lock bags and plastic food wrap) will not be accepted.
Please note that all commercial loads of either Stewardship program material (light bulbs, paint, batteries, etc.) or large quantities of one type of recyclable (plastic pots, shredded paper etc.) must contact the office to set up an appointment time in order to offload. Appointments can be made between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
